Abstract: “Shared space” is a novel approach to street design which minimizes demarcations between vehicles and pedestrians. As a part of a sustainable transport it is proposed as an alternative to traditional measures used in a street design. The goal of shared space is to improve the road safety and vitality of minor roads and junctions within the street hierarchy, particularly ones with high levels of pedestrian traffic by encouraging negotiation of shared areas between different road users. After numerous positive experiences with shared space concept in several European countries, authors are proposing a shared space concept as a solution for city center traffic organization in the local communities city centre. In this paper, current situation in the City of Prelog is being analyzed and the solution is proposed in as a shared space concept for city center.
