Rezime: Današnji saobraćajni sistem Evropske unije, pa i Srbije, suočen je sa narastajućim konfliktom između povećanog zahteva za mobilnošću (zbog čega pitanja negativnih uticaja na okruženje postaju sve kritičnija) i nesumnjivog doprinosa saobraćaja ukupnom ekonomskom razvoju. Politički dogovor u okviru EU predstavlja strategiju za promociju održive mobilnosti, čije su glavne tačake mere za poboljšanje konkurentske pozicije vidova saobraćaja koji pomažu očuvanje životne sredine i one koje uvode promene vezane za ponašanje pri korišćenju vozila i samoj vožnji. Beograd se nalazi na dnu lestvice evropskih gradova kada je u pitanju efikasnost transporta i zaštita životne sredine. Ovaj rad se bavi odnosom održivog razvoja i bezbednosti saobraćaja na teritoriji opštine Zemun, odnosno analizom postojećeg stanja u motornom saobraćaju i korišćenjem bicikla kao alternativnog i poželjnog vida transporta. Takođe, predočava aktivnosti u lokalnoj zajednici planirane za 2014.godinu.

Abstract: Today's transport system of the European Union, as well as Serbia, faced with a growing conflict between the increased demand for mobility (which is why issues of negative impacts on the environment are becoming more and more critical) and the undoubted contribution of transport to overall economic development. Political agreement in the EU is a strategy for the promotion of sustainable mobility, which are the main points of measures to improve the competitive position of the modes of transport that help protect the environment and those that introduce changes in behaviour related to the use of vehicles while driving. Belgrade is on the bottom of the list of European cities when it comes to transport efficiency and environmental protection. This paper deals with the relationship between sustainable development and traffic safety in the municipality of Zemun, and analysis of the current state of the motor traffic and the use of bicycles as an alternative and preferred mode of transport. It also presents the activities in the local community planned for 2014.
