Abstract:
The man is the most important factor in a system of man-vehicle-road-environment and as such largely affect on traffic safety. However, the man impact on traffic safety has not been sufficiently explored, but previous researches has enabled us to explain some effects more accurately. Some of the most important elements that affect on road safety are sex, gender, knowledge, attitudes, experience, behavior, driving under the influence of alcohol, fatigue and other. It is known that volume and structure of knowledge affect on the road safety, as well as that minimum knowledge, especially knowlegde of traffic regulations, is enough for safe participation in traffic. Attitudes have more influence in traffic safety compared to knowledge. For that reason, much attention is paid to the development and rooting positive attitudes about road safety. However, ultimately, it must be noted that behavior of the road users is the most important and has the greatest influence on traffic safety. The subject of this study is to compare the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of the students of the techical and social faculties. The goal is to determine whether there are differences in knowledge, attitudes and behavior of these students, as well as to identify measures that shoud be employed in order to improve knowledge, rooting positive attitudes and encourage proper behavior in traffic.
