Rezime: Prema podacima Svetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) 260. 000 mladih od 0 do 19 godina smrtno strada u saobraćajnim nezgodama, a najugroženija su deca do 14 godina. Povrede su vodeći uzrok smrti dece u Srbiji starosti od 1 do 14 godina, a saobraćajne nezgode su vodeći uzrok poginule dece kao putnici u vozilu. Najefikasnija mera prevencije povrede dece je upotreba odgovarajućih auto sedišta i sigurnosnih pojaseva. Iz tih razloga, sprovedeno je istraživanje koje je imalo za cilj da proveri upotrebu zaštitnih sistema za decu do 12 godina starosti na teritoriji grada Čačka i grada Užice kao i da ispita stavove i znanja vozača o značaju upotrebe zaštitnih sistema, prvenstveno auto sedišta za decu. Na osnovu analize rezultata su predložene mere za poboljšanje postojećeg stanja.

Abstract: According to the World Health Organization (WHO) 260 000 young people aged from 0 to 19 years are killed in road accidents, and the most vulnerable are children under 14 years of age. Injuries are the leading cause of death for children in Serbia aged 1 to 14 years, and traffic accidents are the leading cause of children killed as passengers in the vehicle. The most effective measures for the prevention of injury to children is the use of appropriate car seats and seat belts. For these reasons, research was conducted which was aimed to test the use of protective systems for children up to the age of 12 in the city of Cacak and Uzice as well as to examine the attitudes and knowledge of drivers on the importance of the use of protective equipment, primarily car seats for children. Based on the analysis of the results measures to improve the current situation will be proposed.
