Međutim, ovi faktori nemaju pođednak uticaj, a svakako najveću odgovornost pripisujemo čoveku i njegovom ponašanju u saobraćaju.

Abstract: The four factors that affect traffic safety are well known, and they are: humans, vehicles, the road and the environment. However, these factors don't have equal influence, and certainly the biggest responsibility we can ascribe to man and his behaviour in traffic. So, with his participation in traffic, a man represents the biggest challenge for traffic safety. Taking part in traffic for man means: walking, riding a bike, drive a vehicle, riding or leading cattle over the public roads while respecting the rules. Unfortunately, we are witnessing a different reality. One of the most effected groups are the pedestrians, which, on the other hand, don't participate in traffic without checking their knowledge, skills and abilities. The subject of this paper work is in fact an analysis of attitudes and behavior of the pedestrians in traffic of munipacity of Pirot. Direct interviewing a random passersby and recording pedestrian flows at key intersections and roads we receive important information about their attitudes, behavior and the issues they face. This paper is showing the results of public opinion research, as well as observed problems so that occur in the interaction with the rest of the participants in the public traffic.
