Abstract: Fatigue, as an element of road safety is a very important factor that contribute to the occurrence of an incident situation and traffic accidents. Fatigue affects the road safety by preventing the driver to react adequately in dangerous situations caused by other background factors. Drivers who drive under the influence of fatigue hardly manage to direct attention to driving, and they find it difficult to coordinate movements and significantly slower reacted than drivers who drive well rested. Fatigue is recognized as a serious problem especially when it comes to professional drivers. Professional drivers are more likely to drive under the influence of fatigue first of all because a large part of time they spend driving the vehicle while pause that are intended for drivers break are usually not used in the right way. Professional drivers often drive at night, and at that time the natural state of the human body is the dream. Drivers often apply inefficient measures to eliminate or mitigate the impact of fatigue on their psychophysical abilities while driving. These measures can only temporarily and apparently relieve the driver, but it can also be encouraged to overestimate their current capabilities. The influence of professional driver fatigue on the occurrence of accidents can be reduced by implementing legislation on the driving time. Law enforcement can be ensured through effective measures at the community level, especially in the context of a single transport company.
