Lipovac, K., Pešić, D., Petrović, Đ., (2017). Analiza uticaja demografskih i socioekonomskih faktora na upotrebu sigurnosnog pojasa na području Republike Srbije. 12 th International Conference - Road Safety in Local Communities, Tara.

Abstract: Usage of seat belts is one of the most important measures of passive road safety. This measure reduces the risk of fatal caused in a traffic accident up to 50% and the risk of injury is reduced to 75%. A lot of world researches dealt with examining which factors affect the use of seat belts. Studies were carried out at the micro, also at the macro locations. The current study was conducted at the macro area of the Republic of Serbia in 2014. We have tested twelve demographic and socio-economic factors, in terms of impact on the level of use of seat belts. The aim of this study was to examine the factors that have a significant / substantial impact on the level of use of seat belts. Based on the results of this study, it was found that the most affected areas whose population have a low level of highly educated, low average monthly earnings, a high crime rate and a high density of roads. Selected local communities in which the situation of use of seat belts especially alarming, and where the implementation of the measures necessary as soon as possible.
