Abstract:
In September 2015 United Nations Member States has endorsed 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The areas for action include transport, especially road safety, transport infrastructure development, mobility and citizens accessibility. The authors have analyzed the topic of road safety in the SDG’s targets and defined indicators related to the performance targets. However, the methods of quantifying the degree of achievement of SDGs have not been harmonized so far. The aim of the paper is to present sustainable development goals, global road safety performance targets with accompanying indicators. The list of defined road safety goals, targets, and indicators will contribute to the easier monitoring of the SDGs achievement in countries, regions and local communities.
