Rezime: Sa ekspanzijom ponuđenih sadržaja i aplikacija u mobilnim telefonima raste i rizik od upotrebe mobilnih telefona tokom vožnje.

Abstract: As the volume of content and applications offered on mobile phones grows, so does the risk of mobile phones use while driving. That global issue becomes increasingly important. In that regard, a field research into a mobile phones use rate was carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the locality of East Sarajevo in 2013. The research methodology included the method of survey questionnaire. This paper used a method of logical regression to analyse the influence of personal characteristics of drivers (gender, age, level of education, exposure) and vehicle characteristics (age) on the self-reported behaviour of drivers in terms of mobile phones use while driving. The paper has shown that certain factors do not influence behaviour of drivers in the same way in different traffic situations. Based on the results obtained from the study it will be possible to determine critical group of traffic participants, as well as the way in which they should be dealt with in order to reduce the rate of mobile phones use while driving, thus increasing the awareness of drivers of negative impacts of mobile phones use while driving.

Keywords: Self-reported, behaviour, drivers, mobile phones use .
