Rezime: Bezbjednost pješaka predstavlja značajan problem u bezbjednosti saobraćaja. Pješaci su ranjivi učesnici u saobraćaju i kao takvi predstavljaju ugroženu kategoriju učesnika u saobraćaju. Razlog ranjivosti ove kategorije učesnika u saobraćaju pripisuje se karakterističnim ponašanjem ove grupe učesnika, nedovoljno razvijenim sistemom zaštite kao i karakterističnim ponašanjem vozača prema ovoj grupi. Prema najtežim posljedicama saobraćajnih nezgoda (poginula lica i teško povrijeđena lica) u Republici Srpskoj učešće pješaka je izraženo i oni se prema pregledu kategorija učesnika u saobraćajnim nezgodama pored vozača i putnika u vozilu nalaze u samom vrhu. Međutim i pored izuzetne ugroženosti ove grupe i dalje se ne pridaje dovoljno pažnje ovoj kategoriji. Primarni cilj rada je povećanje bezbjednosti pješaka u saobraćaju, analizirajući posljedice saobraćajnih nezgoda i donošenjem zaključaka koji bi se usmjerili na institucije koje imaju direktni ili indirektni uticaj na saobraćaj. Takođe je potrebno posebnu pažnju usmjeriti ka načinu praćenja stanja ove grupe učesnika u saobraćaju, a koja se ne zasniva na posljedicama saobraćajnih nezgoda.

Abstract: The safety of pedestrians is a significant problem in the safety of traffic. Pedestrians are vulnerable participants in traffic and as such represent a vulnerable category of traffic participants. The reason for the vulnerability of this category of participants in traffic is attributed to the characteristic behavior of this group of participants, the insufficiently developed system of protection as well as the characteristic behavior of the driver towards this group. According to the most serious consequences of traffic accidents (killed persons and seriously injured persons) in the Republic of Srpska, pedestrian participation is expressed and according to the category of participants in traffic accidents, besides drivers and passengers in the vehicle, they are at the very top. However, despite the extreme vulnerability of this group, there is still not enough attention given to this category. The primary objective of the work is to increase the safety of pedestrians in traffic, analyzing the consequences of traffic accidents and making conclusions that would focus on institutions that have direct or indirect impacts on traffic. Also, special attention should be paid to the way in which this group of participants in traffic is monitoring the situation, which is not based on the consequences of traffic accidents.
