Rezime: Izradom prve Strategije bezbednosti saobraćaja na teritoriji grada Niša inicirano je uspostavljanje sistemskog upravljanja bezbednošću saobraćaja. Ovaj rad prikazuje pregled najvažnijih elemenata strategije i njihov značaj za uspostavljanje sistema upravljanja bezbednošću saobraćaja. Samim procesom izrade strategije i pratećeg akcionog plana podignuta je svest političke i stručne javnosti o obavezama u pogledu unapređenja bezbednosti saobraćaja. Nakon prve godine od postojanja Strategije, ovaj rad prezentuje i najznačajnije doprinose u radu na smanjenju broja nezgoda i njihovih posledica. Rad opisuje promene u sagledavanju problema i planiranju aktivnost saveta bezbednosti saobraćaja, pre i nakon donošenja strategije i akcionog plana.

Abstract: The creation of the first traffic safety strategy on the territory of the city of Nis initiated the establishment of a systemic traffic safety management. This paper presents an overview of the most important elements of the strategy and their importance for the establishment of a traffic safety management system. By the process of drafting the strategy and the accompanying action plan, the awareness of the political and professional public about the obligations regarding the improvement of traffic safety has been raised. After the first year of the existence of the Strategy, this paper presents the most significant contributions in reducing the number of accidents and their consequences. The paper describes changes in problem-solving and planning of traffic safety activity activities, both before and after the adoption of the strategy and action plan.
