Abstract: Significant number of traffic accidents involving young drivers occurs due to speeding at night and/or during weekends and in-car passengers are their peers. The aim of this research was to examine young people’s (from GO Vračar) attitudes and experiences concerning speeding and night trips and to determine their awareness of the risks involved. The research was carried out under patronage of The Traffic Safety Council of GO Vračar. Initial research in September and October praised 143 students who answered a set of questions. "Online" survey included a sample of 127 respondents who had passed the driving test and they anonymously answered 14 questions, between 3rd and 25th of October. Interesting results in terms of speeding experience showed that as many as 69% of students surveyed, traveled at speeds above 130 km/h (max. speed limit on roads in The RS), most frequently as passengers in vehicles driven by peers or few years older friends, mostly at night. "Online" survey of young drivers from Vračar, showed that 35% of them drive twice a week during the night, 21% less than twice, and 44% drive at night more often than twice a week. Respondents voted as the main cause of deadly outcomes is due to driving under influence of alcohol (43.3%) and speeding (42.5%). Data analysis and the results of the research are presented individually for each issue graphically and with a brief explanation. The conclusion of the paper contains a proposal of measures to improve the safety of young drivers and passengers.
