Savković, L., (2018). Karakteristike pešaka koje utiču na bezbednost saobraćaja. 13. Međunarodna Konferencija - Bezbednost saobraćaja u lokalnoj zajednici, Kopaonik.
Rezime:

Abstract:
Pedestrians represent one of the most vulnerable and endangared categories of all road users in traffic. According to reports of the World Health Organisation, between 1.2 and 1.3 millions of people get killed in traffic accidents all over the world. More than one fifth out of the total number of people killed in traffic accidents are pedestrians, around 270.000 of people. For the whole European region, pedestrians as road users in traffic make up around 28% of those killed in car accidents. In Serbia around 25% out of the total number of people killed in traffic accidents are pedestrians. Mostly they are elderly people, around 38% of killed pedestrians are over the age of 65 and 18% of pedestrians killed in traffic accidents are in the 55 to 64 age range. Reason behind the accidents involving pedestrians if put aside the oversight of drivers is most oftenly jaywalking of pedestrians. In relation with that, main aim of this paper is to analyse pedestrian behaviour while crossing the road on marked pedestrian crosswalks, to investigate the influence of education, gender and age on reported behaviour, also to question their attitudes upon how dangerous they consider this act to be. Besides, aim of this paper and the work put in is also to analyse the usage of devices which distract the pedestrians while crossing the road depending on the age and gender.
